Our Company

A Part of Northumberland  Since 1832

Upon emigrating from Devon, England, the Macklin family first settled in Northumberland County in 1832 and has actively participated in the community ever since. The family has been involved in the development of land and buildings in southern Ontario since 1959.

On February 16th, 1987 Harold and Hugh Macklin founded Linmac Inc. The company has interests in agricultural and commercial properties in Cobourg and neighbouring Hamilton Township.

The most well-known of Linmac’s holdings is Victoria Place. Developed in the late 1980’s, Victoria Place is located on the southwest corner of Elgin and William/Burnham Street in Cobourg. Other holdings include several retail units in the Strathy Road area.

Linmac is the owner, developer and manager of more than 165,000 square feet of retail space which house over 60 tenants.

Presently, two generations of the Macklin family are actively involved in Linmac Inc. The day-to-day operation of the company is managed by Drew Macklin and Angie Turpin.
